The sun terraces are calling us!

We could hardly wait! Terraces are finally open again. Whether up in the mountains or at one of the many restaurants in the valley – we’re making the most of it. One especially romantic spot is the terrace at Hotel Hornberg in Saanenmöser. Their iced coffee is legendary, and the sunset view of the Rübli mountain is almost too picturesque to be true. Things get a bit more rustic on the village square in Saanen. Here, 16 Boucherie serves up flavorful Thai curry and juicy burgers. It’s best to book ahead – seats are limited! From mid-May, the Eggli gondola starts its summer operations and offers relaxing moments on its spacious terrace during weekends and public holidays. Shortly after, Horneggli, Wispile, Rinderberg, and Sanetsch will also reopen. Please check the operating dates.

Which mountain hut do you think has the best terrace view?

Culinary Delights in the Outdoors

A dream comes true for all picnic lovers. Beginning this summer, the new Gstaad picnic basket is available. It can be picked up at grocery stores and hotels in the destination, and then you are off to your favourite spot. Spread out the picnic blanket, et voilà! Those who are worried about carrying around a basket on a hike can order the Gstaad picnic rucksack instead. This one is filled with the same delicious products and can easily be carried on your back. Where is the most beautiful place en route for a break or picnic? Actually, there are very many. Plus there are a few new places to spend time at where you can comfortably relax on a bench, at a wooden table or on a lounger. From Zweisimmen we take a leisurely walk towards Sparenmoos to the Rischbach spring. We stop at the fire pit situated among the blossoming fruit trees, enjoy the wonderful view onto the village and let the warming spring sun shine on our face.
