The Horny Bar just a stone’s throw from Horneggli mountain station makes a great place to linger over drinks and savour the alpine views.

Full moon tobogganing on the Saanersloch

Cosy up over a rustic fondue in the Saanersloch restaurant before jumping on a sled and whizzing down the mountain. It’s worth making a stop halfway to gaze over the landscape bathed in moonlight. Full moon sledging will take place four times this winter.

Lift off!

The 43rd International Hot Air Balloon Week will take place in Chateau d’Oex from 21 to 29 January 2023. Marvel at the spectacular sight of over 70 hot air balloons from all over the world rising into the air, and cheer on the competitions. And you don’t just have to enjoy them from the ground – you can be on one of the hot air balloons yourself. Passenger flights make for a unique experience. Settle into your basket and lift off!
