Breathe in the mountain air with breathtaking views

Glaciers form part of Switzerland's most spectacular heritage. The eternal ice will fascinate both young and old. Go on a unique glacier Gstaad experience at Glacier 3000. But what’s the best part? With the Gstaad Card, you get a 20% reduction. Our tip: The picturesque Bernese peaks are best enjoyed on the beautiful and challenging high-altitude trail from Lenk via Betelberg and Leiterli to Wasserngrat (20% reduction on the Wasserngrat railway for Gstaad Card holders).

Enjoy nature with the locals

“Wit awäg vom Lärm vo der Stadt” ["Get away from the noise of the city”] was composed by the Swiss dialect band, Span, your evergreen “Louenesee”. Authentic and exclusive, we’ll show you the local flora and fauna that inspired them. Discover unknown spots and places in the middle of the untouched mountains with Saanenland locals. Whether you want to explore the mountains with a Lauenensee ranger to see a paradise for birds, or explore the botany of the mountains with the flower kings, Willy Aegerter and Bert Inäbnit, or collect wild herbs with the herb “witch” Irene Aeschbacher – Gstaad is genuine, rustic and close to nature.

Be a mountain farmer once in your life

With the local farmer, Cédric Hefti, you’ll be up and about early in the morning: milking the cows, mucking out the stalls and driving the cattle into the fields. Then it's on to potato picking and fence maintenance. If this is too tough for you, you can simply watch the animals grazing in the sun and enjoy a good piece of mountain cheese. You can do this with the Hefti family at Alp Wispile or with the farmer, Willi Bach, at Alp Beust. Here, you’ll be able to combine pleasure and tradition.

Discover Alpine “gold” (cheese) by bike

Put on your helmet and full speed ahead. By bike, you can discover the most beautiful spots of the region and get to know the gold of the Alps better. During a visit to a cheese maturation store, the local elders will reveal their very personal recipe. Or even more cheesy: Climb the mountain with a packed fondue rucksack from the local dairy and enjoy the Swiss national dish in one of the four oversized caquelons to be found throughout the resort.
