Visit an alpine pasture from Dominik Matti

Where does the milk come from? And why do the cows spend the summer on the alp?
Dominik Matti and his family will take you on an exciting morning and show you their alpine farm. Petting calves, watching the cheese being made and getting a going into the stable - an exciting morning awaits you. Have fun!

The activity lasts approx. 2.5 hours incl. gondola ride, walk and alp visit by Dominik Matti (1.5 hour).

*Children under 6 years do not receive a Saani Card (guest card). Kindly indicate the Gstaad Card number of a parent when booking for children up to 5 years. If you would like to benefit from these reductions, the family needs to possess a Gstaad Card.

Level of difficulty

The path to the alp is partly steep and stony, participants must be good on foot. The path is doable for children.

Requirements

Registration until 4 pm the day before.

Can be booked with the Gstaad Card only.

Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

Meeting point

Parking space Wispile valley station, 08.45 am

Arrival Information

  • Meeting point 08.45 am at the Wispile valley station, a guide will accompany you during the activity and will be waiting for you at the Wispile valley station. 
  • Joint ride to the Wispile (July: journey to the top station / August: journey to the middle station)
  • Walk to the alp (July: 15 min. / August: 10 min.)
  • After the visit, there is the possibility to ride a scooter from the middle station to the valley station (individually and without a guide, suitable for children aged 12 and over, Gstaad Saanenland Tourism accepts no liability)

Please wear weather appropriate clothing and proper footwear and bring your own drinks and any food you may need.
