A land of plenty and prosperity

On the way from Chalberhöni to the Grubenberg hut, it is worthwhile stopping off at the car-free village of Saanen. The unostentatious yet magnificent buildings bear testament to the important position Saanen has always had. After a coffee break in the village and one or two longer stays, we climb past chalets via Underbort up to Mt. Gspan and on to Mt. Rellerli. Here we briefly enjoy the panoramic view before following the ridge path to Mt. Mittelberg with views of the Grischbach Valley, which forms the „Röstigraben“ (language barrier). From Mt. Mittelberg, there is not far to go until reaching the Grubenberg hut. The SAC hut on Mt. Grubenberg provides a special Alpine experience every time.
