Starting point for the ski tour is the parking lot at the ski lift Lauenen or at the Hotel Alpenland. Here the tour starts and leads along the ski slope to the end of the ski lift. Attention, as a ski tourer please ascend next to the slope or at the edge of the slope. After the ski lift, follow the forest track uphill towards southwest. Soon an open alpine pasture opens up the view to the surrounding high alpine peaks. Through the wonderfully fragrant fir forest, the tour follows the summer hiking trail to the "Chrine" - the pass that separates the Lauenen and Gsteig valleys. From now on the tour runs on the Gsteiger side of the valley and leads below the western side of the ridge to the "Hinderi Wispile" and from there further south to the flat summit of the Walliser Wispile. The ascent is rewarded with a magnificent panorama of the surrounding mountain landscape as well as the charming little village of Gsteig deep down in the valley. Particularly impressive is the imposing pyramid of the Spitzhorn, which rises directly in front of the tour participants.By the way, the name Walliser Wispile comes from the fact that it is the extension of the Wispile in the direction of Wallise. A short (or even a little longer) break - and then as a reward a beautiful descent back down into the valley awaits. This is either along the ascent track, or if you want a different route, you can go via "Längelowene" and "Höji" back to Lauenen. Alternatively, you can go down the other side to Gsteig. The ski tour can also be started from Gsteig.
