The route starts at the valley station of the Wasserngrat cable car and zigzags up to the mountain station. You have the option of stopping off at the Wasserngrat mountain restaurant to enjoy the amazing view of the mountains. Return to the start via the same path or by chairlift.

Hints: Please note the operating times of the Wasserngrat chairlift. Extension of the route possible: e.g. Turnelsattel-Alp Turnels-Talstation Wasserngrat or Turnelssattel-Louwenehore-Giferspitz-Berzgumm-Talstation Wasserngrat.

  • Approach

    The Destination Gstaad is located in the south-west of Switzerland right on the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The Destination is easily accessed by rail or car from the regions around Lake Thun and Lake Geneva and the Gruyere region Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. The main means of transport in the destination of Gstaad are the "MOB" (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train and numerous post bus lines.

  • If you want to extend the route: Quite narrow and exposed ridge (Wasserngrat-Turnelssattel).

  • Good trail running shoes, a couple of trail running poles and a small backpack with food and drinks are recommended.

  • Enjoy the view from the Wasserngrat mountain restaurant.
