Regina Martin Scherenschnitte

Scissor cutting as a passion

Regina Martin has been involved in silhouette cutting for almost 40 years. She was born in 1968 and originally trained as a potter. From the love of drawing soon developed also the scissors cutting. A horse painting by Christian Schwizgebel has accompanied her since childhood. Today, the silhouette hangs above her workplace. It was the "starting signal" for her career as a silhouette artist and Schwizgebel has remained the great role model for her to this day.

Regina Martin's silhouettes are for the most part traditional. Even the famous singer Trauffer had a template for a tattoo cut by Regina Martin.
This now adorns his forearm. The diversity of the images, often produced only in black and white, still arouses enormous enthusiasm even after so many years.

As president of the Swiss Association Friends of Silhouette, she likes to advocate for a lively, tradition-conscious but also modern silhouette scene.
