Places of Happiness in the Bernese Oberland
06.05.2022 , Friday
The region captivates with its breathtaking natural scenery, dominated by the snow-capped peaks of mighty four-thousand-metre. Happiness can also be found here on a small scale, as Blanca Burri and Sabine Reber prove. They are now presenting their travel book, hot off the press, in Gstaad. Next Friday evening at 7 p.m. in Michel's Stallbeizli with musical accompaniment by Deborah Reber, Anita and Simon Hefti.
"With a lot of joy and curiosity, from Grindelwald to the Kiental, from the Hasliberg to the farthest Suldtal, we got to know new people, rustic mountain huts and culinary highlights, moving landscapes with rare flora and fauna, as well as cultural things," the authors enthuse. The mix is colourful, there is something for everyone here. Nature beckons with idyllic lakes, fantastic views and colourful mountain meadows with gentians, Turk's cap lilies and wild carnations. You can visit small cafés, museums and shops with colourful hammocks or impressive alpine horns. If you like it hearty, you'll find wonderful homemade fondue or raclette, and for dessert there are fragrant gingerbreads and all kinds of meringues. Some of the tips are well-known, others more hidden, all worthwhile.
