The cycling route leads from Gstaad to Spiez through the picturesque landscapes of the Saanenland and Simmental regions. After a short, steep climb from Gstaad, the route follows a continuous up-and-down terrain, crossing the Montreux–Bernese Oberland railway several times. Along the way, cyclists enjoy stunning views of the mountains, traditional wooden chalets, and lush meadows with Simmental cows.

From Zweisimmen, the route follows the Simme River, passing impressive Simmental farmhouses with beautifully decorated facades. After Wimmis, the Simme flows into the Kander, before the route crosses a cycling bridge leading to Spiez on the deep-blue Lake Thun.
