The hike starts directly in the village of Lauenen, the panorama trail leads through the scattered settlement of Tüffi. After a short walk through the forest, you reach a beautiful hill just before "ufem Bort", where the Fondue Caquelon stands with a view of the Geltenschutz and Tungelschutz waterfalls and the magnificent mountain panorama. The way back leads down to the Rohr nature reserve and then back to the starting point.


Access by mountainbike possible.

Direct access by car to the giant fondue caquelon is not possible.

  • Public Transport

    By postbus you can get directly to Lauenen to the starting point of the hike, post stop: Lauenen b. Gstaad, GeltenhornOn the way back you can take the Postbus back. Postal stations: Lauenen b. Gstaad Bends & Lauenen b. Gstaad, Tungel

  • The Geltenhorn Platz in Lauenen is a public car park

  • Lauene Dorf - Trüttli - usseri Tüffi - inneri Tüffi - unders Gürütschi - ufem Bort - Bochte - Rohr - Lauenen Dorf

  • Fondue backpack (must be ordered the day before from the village shop in Lauenen), good shoes, drinks for the road.

    The fondue backpack contains all the ingredients for the irresistible outdoor experience: a choice of creamy classic or aromatic truffle fondue, crispy fondue bread, spices, a caquelon, rechaud with fuel paste, plates and forks.

  • We recommend a stop at the rustic mountain inn "Bochtehuus" or at the Hotel Alpenland (note opening times). If you want to shorten the route, you can take the post bus on the way back (stop "under Tungel").
