High summits and idyllic lakes

The beautifully designed trail leads us along the Reusch stream. We really immerse ourselves in the forest. On Alp Reusch, we reach a plateau at an altitude of 1,343 m. a.s.l. There is usually a lot of hustle and bustle here. After Reusch, we cross the cantonal and linguistic border and take a side trip to the canton of Vaud. The aerial ropeway of the Glacier 3000 can be seen in the distance. After the Col du Pillon, we cross Alpine meadows on the way to Lake Retaud. Place orders in French in the cosy restaurant. The summits of the Diablerets Massif reflect in the water of the small lake. After leaving this idyllic mountain lake you continue on to its big brother, Lake Arnen. Here you will feel as if you have been transported to the wilds of Canada. The stage goal, down in Feutersoey, is still another 5 km away.

Highlights

  • A refreshing swim in Lake Arnen
  • Get a feel for the mystical autumn mood in the for-est along the Reusch stream
  • With a bit of luck, you can observe stags, lynxes, or ibexes in Reusch or on Mt. Seeberghorn
