From Saanenmöser station, head up towards Hornberg to the Saanenwald Lodge. After crossing the ski slope, cross a small bridge past the golf club house. After about 2 km across the golf course, turn right up to Chübelialp. Here you have almost reached the maximum altitude and continue moderately on the snow-covered alpine road to Lochstafel. At the Lochstafel mountain restaurant you can take a break and enjoy the sun on the terrace after a snack. From Lochstafel, the trail only descends now parallel to the toboggan run back to Saanenmöser.

The marked snowshoe tour runs on an easier route parallel to the winter hiking trail.

  • Saanenmöser - Chübelialp - Saanenmöser

  • The route of this snowshoe trail is signalled, but not specially prepared. For the most part, however, it runs parallel to the winter hiking trail.

Plan every snowshoe tour carefully and adapt to participants’ fitness level as well as the weather and season.

Weather conditions can change quickly in the mountains. Appropriate clothing is therefore essential, along with adequate supplies of food and water. In uncertain weather, turn back in good time.

Inform others of planned route, and whenever possible avoid going alone.

Please be considerate to other walkers and to plants and animals.

  • A snowshoe tour to the Lochstafel is particularly worthwhile as part of the "Zauberweg".
