From Gstaad, follow the cycle path via Gruben to Schönried. Turn left at the main road and then immediately right again towards the Rellerli cable car. Pass the valley station and take the tarmac side road up to Bergmatte, from where the route descends steeply to Saanenmöser. The route back to Schönried and onwards to Saanen involves another rapid descent. In Gstaad, the ride continues via Gmünte in the direction of Lauenen. The little road climbs steeply shortly after Gstaad, but then flattens out. At Gmüntebrügg, you briefly join the main road, but turn off it again at Enge. The Mur de Lauenen awaits before Lauenen. A short but up to 20% steep climb up to the village centre. From Lauenen, follow the main road back to Gstaad and then the cycle path towards Gsteig. After Feutersoey, there is a short climb up to Saali with its fen meadows and old farmhouses and then down to picturesque Gsteig. Back to Gstaad you follow the main road at a good pace, always slightly downhill.
