The tour starts in Saanen with its narrow streets and alleys, lined with old wooden houses and passing the Mauritius Church from the 15th century. The first section leads through the narrow and remote Grischbach valley, up to the Mittelberg pass. This marks the direct connection to Abländschen, which is dominated by the imposing rocks of the "Gastlosen".

Agricultural alpine farms, called "Vorschess" in Saanenland, as well as increasingly alpine vegetation characterize the second part of the tour. In good weather, the view ranges from the Fribourg and Bernese Alps to the Valais Alps. On the Rellerli, a wonderful view of the mountains and valleys of the Saanenland opens up. The relatively long descent back to Saanen is mainly on gravel paths.
Alternatively, you can return to Saanen from Gspann via Grüebli, Scharlotti, Schönried, Saali, Chouflisbach, mostly on flowing single trails.
