The second stage of the route Bern-Emosson starts in Gstaad down the valey to Château d’Oex. The next climb is around the corner – the Col des Mosses. Coming from Château d’Oex it is a 14km climb. Following a long descent to Aigle the route follows the course of the Rhone River for a mainly flat section until Martigny. After a short downhill, the closing climb up to the Emosson dam is demanding - 10.4km at an average 8.4% with the closing section steepest at 12.3%.
