The Betelberg gondola lift takes hikers directly to the wonderful mountain world on the Leiterli at just under 2000 m above sea level. In summer, numerous pink blooming alpine roses line the path. The Gryden are a bizarre crater landscape shaped by the weather over the centuries. The Gryden are a very special and unusual landscape. Continuing towards the Tungel Pass, the trail leads up and down along or through cultivated alpine meadows and towards the rugged rock faces of the Iffig and Niesehore. Every now and then it is worth stopping to look around and take in the wonderful panorama. At the Tungelpass, turn right and hike across alpine meadows with flowers in the direction of Stieretungel and Chüetungel. In summer, cows graze peacefully here on the high plateau and the Stierentungel alp runs a restaurant during the alpine season. The view of the Wildhorn region from here is fantastic. The last part of the hike zigzags steeply parallel to the Tungelschuss waterfall down to Lake Lauenen. The deep blue lake can be spotted from far above through the trees. A place for great photos of Lake Lauenen. It is worth planning some time at this beautiful lake. There is also a barbecue area near the lake and on hot summer days you might even dare to take a dip in the cool water.
