Megu, The Alpina Gstaad

Megu’s cuisine is a modern take on authentic Japanese dishes that combines flavours from a variety of cuisines and are artfully presented. Head Chef and Sushi Master Tsutomu Kugota and their team are focused on sourcing the most pristine raw ingredients and incorporating unusual local flavours to the Megu culinary journey. Decidedly contemporary and full of surprises, Megu at The Alpina Gstaad has been recognised with 16 Gault Millau points as Switzerland’s top Asian restaurant for its celebration of traditions, delicate signature creations and innovative cuisine.

The restaurant’s bar counter serves up a wide array of freshly prepared sushi and sashimi, as well as an extensive selection of sake - including some rarities imported exclusively for The Alpina Gstaad. The restaurant is the work of the famous interior designer Noé Duchaufour-Lawrence, who was inspired by Japanese houses, temples, and antique kimonos. Pine wood and accents of vermillion red also contribute to the elegant Alpine-Japanese ambience.
