From Zweisimmen railway station, walk to the Rinderberg parking. From there, take the mountain railway to the Rinderberg mountain station. After a walk along the official hiking trail, you will reach the large fondue caquelon, which seats up to eight people. Way back: You can hike back the same way or hike to the middle station of the Rinderberg, where you can then take the mountain railway down to the valley.

Direct access by car to the giant fondue caquelon is not possible.

  • Approach

    The destination of Gstaad is located in the south-west of Switzerland, right on the border with the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Lake Thun region, the Lake Geneva area and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey.
